Lewotobi volcano in Indonesia produced a significant ash emission on May 18, 2025. The Darwin VAAC reported that volcanic ash reached an altitude of 9.1 km (30 000 feet) above sea level (a.s.l.) at 07:40 UTC, extending southeast from the summit area.
The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) maintains the Alert Level at III (Siaga). Residents and visitors are advised to avoid activities within a 6 km (3.7 miles) radius of the volcano’s summit.
