Rockslide forces closure of National Highway 154-A in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, India

A large rockslide struck National Highway 154-A near Khadamukh in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district on March 1, 2025, disrupting traffic and forcing a temporary highway closure.

The incident was captured on video, showing people fleeing as debris tumbled down the slopes.

The region is currently experiencing severe weather, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing warnings for heavy rainfall and snowfall.

An Orange Alert has been declared for the Chamba and Kangra districts on March 3, while a Yellow Alert has been issued for the remaining 10 districts in the state.

Emergency response teams are working to clear blocked roads, restore essential services, and provide assistance to affected communities.
