Rockfall in West Java quarry claims 10 lives, Indonesia
At least 10 people were killed, and six others injured on May 30, 2025, following a rock collapse at a quarry in West Java, Indonesia. Search efforts to locate individuals buried beneath the rubble will continue on May 31.

The landslide occurred on May 30 at the C-class mining site of Gunung Kuda in Cipanas Village, Dukupuntang Subdistrict, Cirebon, West Java. It occurred at around 10:00 local time (LT), resulting in the deaths of 10 miners.
Of the 10 fatalities, 2 have not yet been identified. The 6 injured individuals received medical treatment at Sumber Hurip Hospital and the nearest community health center (Puskesmas).
A preliminary rapid assessment reported that 3 excavators and 6 trucks were buried in the landslide.

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and other agencies continued search and rescue operations until 17:00 LT on May 30. Operations will resume on May 31.
The National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) urged joint personnel and residents to remain cautious during operations due to the risk of further landslides.
